Senior Cost Consultant

Danquah Group is seeking a Senior Cost Consultant. The candidate must have at least 10 years’ experience in construction cost estimating, management and consulting. Candidate must have strong familiarity with the construction industry. Prior experience with building construction, heavy civil, transit programs and other transportation projects will be a plus. The candidate must have good communication and analytical skills. The candidate will work/team with other cost consultants and work with partners to deliver cost consulting services to clients in the EPC industry.

Job Expectations:
  • Provide estimating and cost consulting service by providing quantity survey and pricing for Capital Improvement Programs and other construction projects
  • Be able to provide advisory services in cost consulting, risk management and construction economics
  • Interpret construction and engineering drawings and documents
  • Ability to independently work and or lead other estimating and cost management teams
  • Provide quantitative and qualitative analyses of large capital project including rail, roadways and other heavy civil projects.
  • Demonstrated exposure to all aspects of the project delivery process
  • Interfacing with vendors and subcontractors
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships throughout the project
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management. Civil Engineering, Economics, Building Technology with 8 years’ experience in construction cost estimating, or a graduate degree with 4 years in cost consulting services
  • Proven ability to work independently and provide estimates through the project delivery process. Ability to provide conceptual and detailed estimates
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (primarily Outlook, Word and Excel) and Sage Construction
  • Familiarity with RS Means databases
  • Ability to develop Estimating Data base
  • Working knowledge of Primavera P6 Scheduling Software and ability to develop proposal and planning phase construction schedules is highly desirable
  • Currently hold or eligible to obtain AACE certification as a Certified Estimating Professional CEP, Certified Cost Engineer (CCE), Certified Cost Consultant (CCC), or APSE certification as a Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) within one year, highly desired.
  • Previous construction management background highly preferred, must understand construction sequencing and ability to detail work break down structures (WBS)
  • Understanding of different project delivery methods and estimating based on delivery method
  • Ability to perform constructability reviews
  • Ability to coordinate the objectives of all stakeholders towards a positive outcome
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
  • Excellent organization, prioritization and time management skills
